Come on Shapiro, pick up the phone and start the firesale. They're done.
Get whatever you can for Boone, Byrd and Johnson (just kidding about Johnson---who other than the Tribe would let him pitch at the major league level?). Then when Blake gets healthy, trade him too. Just bring up the kids. They're going to have to learn how to play this game sooner or later. It might as well be now.
You know that short-arms Dolan isn't going to pay for real talent. So, the team will have to play kids. That's why we might as well let the future start.
I'm miserable.

Couldn't have said it better, both the recommendations to get rid of our veteran mediocrity and go with kids who at least have some promise and, more importantly, the misery. Reminds me of the Joe Carter and Cory Snyder years. Yipes, that's bad.
Peter---that's funny that you invoked the names of Carter and Snyder. When I wrote that post, I was thinking more of guys like Vada Pinson, Frank Duffy, Johnny Grubb, Andre Thornton and Duane Kuiper. When they were around, you knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Tribe would be looking up at New York, Boston and Baltimore at season's end. The only thing that has changed is our division and Angelos' idiocy which keeps Baltimore out of contention. I'm fearful that Dolan's short arms will doom the franchise to be lost in the wilderness again.
